Astrophysics Description

We are interested in a broad area of plasma astrophysics including high-energy astrophysics, heliophysics, black holes and planetary systems and their disks, as well as laboratory plasmas. High-energy astrophysics involves energetic events in the Universe with strong radiation and often nonthermal particle acceleration. We are interested in magnetic field evolution and energy release, particle acceleration and heating, turbulence and shocks, and high-energy radiation in relativistic jets, pulsar wind nebulae, and gamma-ray bursts.
